ABOUT US

Art Mentor (Art Mentor International Ltd.) is a unique production company specializing in musical theatre education and producing original music and stories for brand new Hong Kong Broadway-style musicals. We work with different artists, young and experienced, local and overseas, to provide actor coaching, and opportunities for backstage works as well as creating original music and story. We are aimed to promote local culture and provide job opportunities to teenagers. We are welcome to work together with young people and show musicals with strong Hong Kong culture and heritage to China and oversea in the future.

Through studying the scenes and scripts, our acting students improve their English proficiency, communication skills as well as art appreciation. Acting students can benefit massively from comprehensive musical training. Team spirit and personal responsibility are the ones most developed. Corporate social responsibility is one of our missions. We hope that students will learn to believe in themselves, increase their performance experience, enjoy the stage, and gain a sense of success through musical theatre.

This year, we partnered with The Society for Community Organization to support two children from low-income families by providing them with valuable opportunities to perform in our original musical and make friends with different personalities.

We now also provide internship opportunities to individuals who are looking to gain work experience and learn more about different aspects of performing arts. We plan to provide orchestra training to students who are interested in music in the future. There is no doubt that the orchestra plays an important role in musical theatre. We hope that the student musicians can improve their communication skills and self-value, and build their confidence.

MRS. SUSANNA Hei
OUR FOUNDER

Susanna Hei is a professional art fair and events organiser. In 2006, with a firm belief in Hong Kong as the centre of the Asian art world, she and her husband Andy Hei founded the International Asian Antique and Art Fair, which was the first international art fair in Hong Kong in more a decade. In 2010, the fair was renamed Fine Art Asia and is now recognised by the international art world as the most distinguished and influential fair of its kind in Asia.

The home-grown fair has seen a steady expansion, with the addition of elements such as contemporary ink to enhance its range and provide the highest quality platform for the international art world. In 2015, Ink Asia was launched as the first-ever international fair dedicated to ink art. The fairs have attracted leading international dealers as well as reputed Hong Kong galleries. They act as a bridge between the local art world and the global scene, reinforcing the status of Hong Kong as the art hub of the Asian art market.

Susanna also places emphasis on the importance of education. In 2019, she founded Art Mentor International Ltd., an organisation which is dedicated to musical theatre education and produces original music and stories for various Broadway-style children’s musicals which are staged several times a year, as well as organising related programmes. She aims to help children and teenagers to improve their English proficiency, communication skills and art appreciation through stage performances, as well as providing creative opportunities and work experience in different aspects of musical theatre.

In addition, Susanna has expanded her objective further by founding the Art Mentor Education Foundation (AMEF), creating a platform to enhance the arts and the all-round personal development of children and teenagers. This charitable programme includes online classes and “Little Tutors” sessions for underprivileged children. AMEF is not just about raising academic levels but focuses on inspiring students and establishing a “positive cycle” of learning through community projects.
